Changing personal information?

Hi, I just have a quick question. My fiancee played this A LOT in the past 10 years. Anyways, last year he killed something IG and got a good deal of money. His information in Entropia doesn't match his credit card info so back in Feb he sent a request via snail mail (which is the way he told me he had to do it) to get it changed. Nothing happened. So over a month ago he sent 2 out via Fed Ex. And nothing yet.

I am wondering if there is anything else we can do to contact them and get the information changed.

Me being the skeptic I am, though he has put in over 15,000USD, he is only wanting to get out about 5,000. I have to wonder if it isn't changing because they don't want him getting the money?

I am not being rude at all, these are legitimate concerns, and we aren't sure where to go from here. But, 5 months of trying to change a simple name to match his credit card is cause for concern.

I am also wondering- from anyone- if anyone has taken out a sustantial amount of money from Entropia?

I have done the same thing.
Did he remember to put a photocopy of his "national ID"/social security card + utility bill from within the last 3 months + hand-filled out form from their website + list his Gold Card ID?

I did all of that, and my account was updated from my Girlfriend to my name in like a week.

I can vouch that many people have withdrawn what amounts to substantial figures from Entropia.

The withdrawal periods are usually quite lengthy, but they go through.

I'm not sure what information you have on file that does not match the in game values that you can't change via your entropia universe account login... I was fairly sure last I looked that I could set up and change the credit card I am using, the bank account details, etc.

Although I must admit I've never tried to change the actual bank account linked to the game as far as I recall.

Assuming you sent your details track and trace and can confirm they were delivered, then I suggest you simply open a Support case with MindArk to confirm that they have your paperwork and ask what the status is on getting the details updated or if there is anything else you need to supply etc.

First, being a bit of "devils advocate" here, maybe they have reasons to think twice about a sudden name change of account. For instance, there are questions on the other forum about someone having spent a year with supprot trying to get an approval to sell his avatar. Getting a name change maybe could be seen as a way to get around that tricky part.

Maybe the region you live in happen to have a "troublemakers" when it comes to cybrecrimes: People trying every trick in the book (and beyond) to get access to other people's money. If you can change owner of an account to your own, you pretty much own that account after that (and if you're acting during vacations chance is the original account owner won't notice what you've done until it's too late).

As for name changes, if it's a major change, maybe they want official papers confirming the change of name (for instance proof of marriage). If it's a minor change, for instance spelling or something else that doesn't change name totally, they would probably approve of it if they just get some official documentation showing the name clearly.

Having said all that, it can be something more easily understood:
July has traditionally been the "industrial holiday" period in Sweden, and maybe there is just one at administration who's authorized to do this kind of changes and that person is out of office. (To try to force it through desperately knowing ordinary staff is on vacation is suspicious - people who sends fake bills to squeeze money from companies usually try doing that when the ordinary staff is out.)

So I'd wait until first week in August (after July has ended) for a serious reply. Trying now would be like trying between christmas and newyear.

Once I had to send in personal information to act changes to my account (not a name change though). I did this by raising a support case, and then sending the information in an encrypted zip file via a link provided to me by MA that allows uploading of files, leaving the password for the zip in the support case. It was acted on rather quickly.

Knowing that accounts are not allowed to be sold, I guess you would have to have a legitimate reason to change the name like Aia said, such as marriage.

However, If you had a person who also plays the game that you could trust, such as your mum for instance, then you could transfer the ped to your mums avatar and withdraw it.
