Question: Gold Card Security Code Generation App?

Hi MindArk Dev team

We are still using the Gold Card system which is now out of date. More games like RIFT use iPhone App Security Code Generators which replace the need to carry a Gold Card style swiper and card.
Also many Banks now use iPhone Apps for banking purposes. In essence the iPhone Secuirty App is as secure as the Gold Card system and would be very popular for players with iPhones or other smart phones to change to rather than using the old Gold Card system.

I am sure this would be a simple program to develop and have up and running.

Hope this can happen soon

Although I do very much like the idea, as im a technology geek, I would say make it optional. I like my reader and prefer it.

Consider this a bump for the cause. What say you MA??!!

I dont have any Apple product, therefore this change (from CG to any iPhone security) is not applicable for me. And not only for me, i think.

Uhm.. No.. A device connected to the internet, which could facilitate "man in the middle" attacks can not be as secure as a device that is only synchronized once with a central server (upon shipping).

I do not have iPhone and have no plans to buy it - it is too big and complicated for me and I do not love touch screen.

I fully agree with that. If this was introduced, it would have to be as an option in addition to the GC system.

I agree that yes a Gold Card reader is safe from the Internet, but considering all the major banks use banking Apps now, I would argue that a Gold Card App would be safe, especially when it only generating codes linked to MA and you still enter your username and password separately logging into your computer!

As many pointed out; app < gold card, when it comes to security.

However; app > no gold card, still.

I see no reason that we can not have both.

A new account is advised to install the (free) app for added security.
For top-level security a user can buy and use the gold card solution, which would void the need for the app.

If you only need your phone to operate all your banking then you're hardly secure. My bank also has an (android) app that let's me do basic things like view my saldo, but if I want to transfer money to someone else I still need my "security device" (gold card equivalent).
