Hi there, welcome to Entropia

I take it you were at the Genesis starting area (where you create your avatar), and teleported to either Calypso Gateway or one of the other planets' beginner zones.

The clothes and armor you can try on at Genesis are just examples of some of the available styles, to help you design your avatar better. Once you leave that area and move to the planet beginner zone, all you'll have with you are your colonist shirt and pants, and a VSE tool.

Armor and clothing parts may be acquired in the game, either by purchasing, or completing some missions etc.

Entropia isn't for everyone .. and I guess you could say that of any game

Most MMORPG games these days either require purchase or subscription, without any opportunity to recoup those outlays.

Entropia has a different model in that - while you are never required to deposit (and there are ways to acquire ingame currency without ever depositing) - that path requires more patience and persistence than many players want to put in. Those who do choose to deposit can also choose how much and how often they want to pay for their gameplay, rather than a fixed monthly fee.

All the best with whichever game you try next

Ah, another game funded by ingame microtransactions, though perhaps somewhat more limited than Entropia:

How do they plan on making money?
Firefall will be supported through an in game market using microtransactions. However, this market will not contain anything that will compromise the skill-based nature of the game (aka the game will NOT be Pay-to-win). Exactly what will be sold in the market is not decided yet, but it will be limited to things along the lines of cosmetics, boosts, and convenience items.

Hmm.. interestingly enough, that's how I played EU for the first year I played.

Then again for 1.5 years just to see if I could.. Ended up doing quite well and had a load of fun..

Either way, good luck with your gaming!!
