Can someone answer this for me?

So I was playing today and came across a ship just outside of the invincible fortress, I tried to press the button to enter, but it said I needed to be part of a team. What is this? Does it hold any significance?

Free noob beacon mission probably

Just team up with someone and try it - you'll like it

Yes, that's the noob beacon mission. There is also one on Jennifer's Island a little south of Port Atlantis. There must be one elsewhere underwater, although I don't know the location (Im pretty confident coords of all beacon missions will be available somewhere on Planet Calypso Forum). As Wizzszz says: team up and you can open the door. The team mate don't even has to enter, that person can just stand next to the door. If it's same level of drones as the one on Jen's Island, it's pretty easy. The one on Jen's Island was also packed with oil barrels so you didn't have to shoot the drones but shoot those barrels) to take multiple targets out. End boss was kind of Harbinger mob. IMO the hardest part was to get back to the entrance..after the kill of the end boss a timer starts to count down. I don't know what the reward is in this one but the one on jen's Island was bugged a while so that basicly ment there was hardly any loot.

Have fun! Cheers, Roni

Is it possible to run the Jennifer's Island beacon mission multiple times?

I think so yes. But I'm not certain. I will test it and post my findings.

It can be done as many times as you want to.

I'm away from my games machine at the moment, but the one on Jenifer's Island is at the head of the western facing inlet, and quite easy to find.

As for being 'easy' - rather depends on your levels.

I and my soc boss teamed up to try it last night as neither of us had done a beacon mission. Our first time we never made it to the 'boss'.

When we tried again we got the 'boss', but I wasn't able to exit on time.

My soc boss had computer probs, so kept on being killed. I was wearing Shogun with plate 2a, and used an Opallo with A101. I am level 9 damage, and had a hard time dealing with all the bots. I had to resort to pyro to kill the boss in reasonable time.

There are obviously strategies for this, and I hope to learn them when I return.

The one on Jennifer's Island is the only one I have been to. I think you need more than a Sollomate Opalo + A101. Try a team of 4 people with two people using Riker UL2 (L)'s and two people healing the shooters.

Oh what a Blast it was!!!
I and a fellow Soc m8 tried the Beacon on Jen's, what a fast paced and awesome battle that was..
I'm lvl 40 BLP and Laser and was equiped with Vigilante and 5b's. So I think I was well equiped for such a Battle.
My Partner had Ghost and 6a's I believe and was sporting a Riker 2 if I remember correctly.
Anyhow Even with my Vat-100 going 100% of the time it was a challege, what hurt was running out of ammo about 3/4's of the way through, but we was still able to reach the Boss, and how comical it was to kill him with my Castorian TT Enblade..hahaha!
The loot kinda was crappy at the end but wow! What a Blast..

I recommend trying it at least once, could get addictive! Take plenty of ammo, and be ready as the action don't take a break in Battle till your all done!

Have Fun
