Help: Unable to extract sweat

i have done the starting tutorial and am on the starting area after that. All my weapons are broken and i have no PED to buy another. i have tried to extract sweat but am unable to do so or i do now know how. I've gone up to a creature with nothing equipped and tried double left click, nothing. double right click. Nothing. only a health bar of the creature would show up. tried single right click and it only shows: show info. (something like that) no other options. is there an item i need or something for me to extract sweat?

Hi there,

Look in your inventory (press I), and notice the icons down the right hand side ...

Look for tools section (clik on the icon that looks like a wrench/spanner).

In there you should find a greenish-colored tool called a VSE Mk.1 (mouseover the tool to see the name, or look at it 'Item Info'). That stands for 'vibrant sweat extractor.

If you equip that tool (right-clik on it), and then use it to target a creature, you will then be able to extract the creature's sweat.

Note: There is a high failure rate on sweat extraction, causing this to be a relatively slow process, so dont be discouraged if the first few times you get a failure message in chat.

That being said, I'm guessing here from what you've said ('..finished starting tutorial (Genesis?) and now on the area after that..') that you are still on the Gateway island? If so, and you've completed all you can of the beginner missions there, use the Teleporter on level 2 to move thru to Port Atlantis Marina in the main Calypso area.

I am in Port Atlantis and have done a couple of the quest here. and in my inventory under the tools tab all i had was the mining equipment there nothing else. i have even gone through all the tab looking for any tool that would allow me to extract sweat. i even checked the storage thing.

After going in-game again after logging out for the night i noticed that my character is now without his cloths and it now there in the tools tab is the VSE Mk.1. Not sure if i was bugged or what but anyways thanks for the help.

Recently I had a disciple on Arkadia who had just arrived that had this same thing happen. I ended up spending his first night in EU helping him kill his weapons from the new player experience and learning how to file his first support case. But it sounds like I should have taught him to relog instead

It's certainly something I'll keep in mind when the next new player asks me something similar.

However, there must be some bug in there somewhere, as the tool should be available right from the beginning, and the only way MA will have that brought to their attention is through support cases from new players, so your advice was good too

if you cant find something in inventory, chances are its at the bottom so just press the "compact" button to move it to the top.

i have done the compact button to all the tabs when the problem arose and still would not show up. just a simple log out and log back in seemed to have fixed the problem.

After reading this I realize I had the same problem. I hadn't yet looked for the sweat extractor though. But I logged out and when I logged back in my clothes were gone and then I saw the sweat extractor in my inventory a bit later. I thought it odd that i was left to run around in my underwear

Lately I ran in some pple who couldnt find the VSE in their inventory. Usually relogging does the trick allthough I met some players even that didnt work. Doing a support ticket with MindArk fix this easy enough.

You sure you dont have clothes? I never heard of anyone before who experienced missing the degraded OJs. Press the compact key in your inventory..maybe they are at the bottom. Anf if you are refering to the clothes you can try when creating your avatar: nobody gets those. These are merely to give you an idea whats available inworld (not free).

Spend a little time around PA! There are *loads* of people running around in their underwear.
I've been helping a newbie who was in that state, and he had no idea why. I gave him enough PEDs to be able to repair them so he could wear them.

Why this happens I have no idea. I never went through the Gateway, so I don't know what happens there. Perhaps people try stuff on, and leave their preferred outfit on when taking the TP to PA?
