Can't find the gas tank door

Tutorial mission -
Sitting in Valkyrie. Fuel empty. 5 oil in inventory. Dropping oil can on vehicle isn''t helping.

What should I be doing?

After you spawn your vehicle on the ground, open your inventory screen and drag the REFINED oil onto your vehicle - you should then get a msg window pop up asking if you want to add the fuel to the vehicle... yes or no...

you can not be in the vehicle to do this.. you must exit the vehicle first.

Make sure the oil is refined. You can buy a refiner at the TT. And you need to stand next to the vehicle to ad fuel, not sitting in it.

Roni, the oil given in the Gateway tutorial mission is already refined. At this point they've not only never seen crude oil, they've got no idea what a TT is

Granger, for future reference: the item Crude Oil = 'unrefined', Oil = 'refined'.. and items of 'Animal ... oil' are something totally different and don't go into vehicles at all. Also 'TT' is short for 'Trade Terminal' which you'll be introduced to in a latter mission

If you do as Xander suggest in his post above it should work just fine.

If you drop someting a couple of different things can happen:

If you drop oil in "nature", you'll get a popup asking if you really want to drop the oil, and a message anyone can pick it up. (This is not what you want.)

If you drop oil on (your) car, you should get a popup asking if you want to fill the vehicle with fuel. If it's yours, press yes.

If you are in "edit mode", the client might think you want to create an icon or something. Make sure you are not in edit mode.

If you try to drop it on your car but you miss and it ends up at a place where it can't be dropped, for instance too far away, you should see an error message about it (yellow line in chat window).

So, I would suggest you try to fill the car again, with the oil that looks like a jeep dunk. If you are brand new you probably have nothing else that can be used, but if you're coming from port atlantis you might have unrefined oil ("Crude oil" - looks like oil barrel - if you managed to pick some up at the new oil field), animal oil or something else like that looks like oil but isn't. To fill a vehicle only (refined) "Oil" works. And if nothing happens look in chat window if a yellow line shows up (like "you can't drop an item that far away").

Easiest way (unscientifically) to see if you managed to fill oil is that if car is operational, it should come some smoke from the exhaust when you sit down in it.
