OK, I've finished my Studio flat. It's now fully furnished and demonstrates some of the images presented on this thread. Hopefully as time goes by, I will afford more images and multiple picture presentations, utiliseing the screens multi-ad abilities.

Finally, a completed project... I tried to keep the flats design as original as possible. I wanted it to look like a modern gallery so took ages working it out.

    The Address...

    Omegaton Gamma Complex 8B (Public)

    Enjoy your visit and thankyou.

    (More updates possible)

    Proposed art society...

    Hi again...

I'm thinking of setting up an art society within Entropia. I have scanned the society teminal within the game environment and found nothing to indicate a matching society. I also have no idea if there has been another art society created, disbanded in the past. I have thought about this and in consideration, personally think it's a good idea.

    Structure...

The Society would be "BASIC" in it's organisation, eliminating the other command sructures which are based on ingame professions.

    Discription...

The Entropian Art Society has no interest in overall skill levels. We are open to those who have a keen interest in art. Activity and participation within the Entropian Universe is at your own pace. The society only asks that you conduct yourself both morally and ethically within the Entropian Universe.
When you apply to join the society, you are accessed. If you have property within the Entropia Universe with displayed work(s) or a website which displays your artwork, then simply inform upon application, the addresses, so the society can make an assessment of your entry level. Otherwise, your entry will default to Junior Learner. If you do have property within the Entropia Universe and a website, it will also be displayed on the societies website (to be created) upon acceptance, so other members/participants can appriciate your work.

    Rank/Grade...

Junior Learner is a member/participant who...
Has a general interest in art.

    Learner is a member/participant who...
Has a general interest in art.
Displays artwork in their Entropia Universe virtual property.

    Worker is a member/participant who...
Has a keen interest in art.
Displays created artwork in their Entropia Universe virtual property.
Creates artwork on a regular basis.
Has has a website for display.

    Professional is a member/participant who...
Has a keen interest in art.
Displays an extensive array of created artwork in their Entropia Universe virtual property.
Creates artwork on a regular basis.
Has has a website for display.
Who has exceptional gifts in the world of art.

    Advisor...
A volunteer who simply spreads the word to other member(s)/participant(s) about new members, attractions or displays within the Entropian Universe.

    Disclaimer...
The Entropian Art Society is a virtual society and is not a business, nor does it generate any money by it's existence. The Entropian Art Society has no cash value either in the virtual world or the real world. It exists for those who have an artistic interest and appreciate art in the many forms of it's creation and display.

The Entropian Art Society is not responsible nor takes any liability for any member(s)/participant(s) or anyone else who displays, promotes, advertises, distributes or sale of material of any kind in both the Entropia Universe, real world or other(s).

Member(s)/participant(s) of the Entropian Art Society are solely responsible and accepts personal liability for participation, promotion, advertiseing, distribution and sale of material of any kind in the Entropian Universe, real world or other(s).

The disclaimer is just a minor protective mechanism. I wouldn't want any unfortunate situations to spoil a members enjoyment of art or participating in the Entropia Universe. Everything is so legal in today's world.

Anyway, your thoughts would be very much appriciated on this topic and if there is already a society out there ect, it would be good to know.

    Thankyou for your time.

A small advise: The higher rank(s) should be reserved to active people, or you'll get in trouble if/when the leader takes a longer unscheduled vacation and the people in below leader ranks aren't enough, together with the possible inactive other people, to pull through a vote to change leader.

Think this way: If leader goes away, there have to be at least one "second in command" who can boot inactives (to be able to pull throgh a vote) - and the number of people second in command shuold be at least 50% active (or if the number of active players in other ranks are low there is a risk that inactive second-in-command will have their vote "locked" on the inactive leader).

If a leader plan to take an extended leave, then the the leader can set hím-/herself unvoteable and that way force through a new vote. Problem is when the leader just suddently don't log in for months.
A society can, in the sort run, survive without an active leader, but in the long run there can be problem if there is noone who can promote society members to a position where they can accept applicants.

    Thankyou for your input aia

What I was thinking. Is that alot of pressure can be applied on people to stay ingame.
The society itself is just a mechanism holding people of a perticular interest together. Some people vary in gameplay, being loyal, regular to infrequent players, who need to enjoy the choice of being away from the keyboard for some considerable time without being penalised by anyone. Imagine a chief example of this, which can be somebody in the society with an in-world property set to public, with a display. They are still allowing their work to be viewed even though they are not present. Unless they delete or have their account purged through inactivity, that display will always be present. The aim is not to hassel a member to be online, with strict guidelines to adhere too. Patience is also an art and one I think that can be allowed to such an artistic society over that of a competative, professions society where such rules can be a benefit to it.
I know that decisions in a society can affect it's course, it's standing, productivity and can alienate members. And I can see why voting for a new leader or having members promote can be a exellent example of a rebalance to suit the needs of it's members and that society. But a society that isn't in competition with anyone, that doesn't need to be as agressive in it's nature as others are, can be far more relaxed in it's operation, which is what I hope in this case.

As the society creator, there are three needs to stay comitted to something like this... a working computer, an internet access point and an ingame profession or hobby. To me Entropia isn't about the hof. I love to explore the environment, have property and decorate it with my pictures, which is a very attractive anchor point for me. Whether or not I can make a qualified judgement on what I would deem good art or not is irrelevent, considering the ranking system suggested for operation. And I think the professional is far easier to spot than the "stick drawn" man type. Others of course may well consider an opinion drawn by their own tastes, so the criteria proposed by the ranking system is the best I was able to come up with, without being prejudice or inflicting my taste upon another.

If at any point, if it is necessary for me to take a prolonged absence, I would be sure to fish the next person, ideally, someone who has the same vested interests as myself, within the society/environment. The website would ultimatly be updated by myself and there would little room to manouver on that. But that is just adding and removing information as the site would be more over, a set of info-pages and any forum useage would obviously be here on EntropiaForum.com for members who wish to post.
