    Hi,

I have recently purchased a new pc with windows 8.

When trying to install EU, i get the following error message:

"Failed to install DirectX 9.0c, setup will be aborted.
You could try to install DirectX 9.0c yourself and then run this setup again".

I have DirectX 11 on my machine and it's not I've tried both installing:

    dxwebsetup.exe
    and
    directx_Jun2010_redist.exe

    Nothing helps.

    What can I do ?

    Hi,

    Thank you for your report.

Please download and install the DirectX 9 Setup from this link:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...a-9b6652cd92a3

If you experiment errors when trying to install the web version then try to download the complete setup file from this link:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displayLang=en

This will not uninstall DirectX 11 it will only add the components of DirectX 9 to your current system.

Please let us know if you were able to solve this issue.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Owen.

You just posted me links, to the two packages i wrote in my support case that I've already tried installing.

When trying to install the first link i get:

"DirextX setup has determined that a newer or equivalent version of DirectX has been installed already. No installation is necessarry".

When trying to install the second link:

It installs a lot of DLL files but it does not change the installation problem with EU.

    Any other ideas ?

    Maybe look at these threads:

    http://www.entropiaforum.com/forum/t...5-dll-fix.html

Maybe need to first remove DirectX and do a fresh install. Later ad DirectX11?

    Hope you get it solved!

    Regards, Roni
