Syntax's Mining Log

I'm just a casual player, but have a little extra free time before work lately so I'm playing more regularly. I thought I'd start tracking how much the game is costing me. I decided to post my results because unlike the other, more impressive logs I've seen, I won't be dropping hundreds (or thousands) of dollars a month and going on marathon runs; so this data may be of interest to other casual players.

My stats are: 18 prospecting, 16 mining, 16 surveying

I use an F-105, unamped, no upgrades. I drop for both ore and em.

Currently I'm on Calypso, I mine on both continents, taxed/untaxed. I like Arkadia also, but I'm going to stay on Caly for now to build up some stats. I will be curious to see if the planets have different rates of return.

Also I will log the date and day of the week. I'm doing this because I have always had this visceral feeling that particular days of the week are better than others, and I want to see if the data supports that.

I'll keep the running totals here, all numbers are either PEDs or percentages. "Sold" is the amount I was able to sell the run for.

Started with a good run, then each successive run got progressively worse. Mining seemed good for everyone else though, I watched someone get about 12 HOFs @FOMA and someone else got a 28K HOF on Caly. Guess they stole some of my luck/loot.

Ore typically has higher MU, but matter you typically get more frequently. Personally I think it's a wash, but there are probably more serious number crunchers around that could tell you better.

Very interesting. I'm nowhere near your level (8 in prospecting and surveying), but I note a few things.

I find that prospecting skills come faster than surveying, which seems to be emphasized by your stats. I am deliberately keeping them roughly balanced, and it takes longer to get the surveying skills.

I am also using a F-105, but I have tiered it each time it gets to that point. It is now tier 4. I'm not sure just how useful this is. Tiering costs a lot, and the enhancers break far too often!

I haven't tried to keep a record of the PED balance, as I'm fairly sure that it would discourage me!

The weighting of skillgains is directly related (though not necessarily directly proportional) to ped expenditure.
As ore-mining uses more probes/drop than enmatter-mining, prospecting will skill faster than surveying, if you are doing the same number of drops of each.

I'm pretty sure there isn't any role and connection about the day of the week and the loot/findings you get.
The principal (for me) it is how much money you....recycling/spending in a certain period of time.
Higher that is= better chances for good loot/findings or even global/HoF.

Rule
don't expect HoF to come "out of the blue"!!!!! That is never going to happen
that mean, if you planning to sweat for ...ever, HoF is going to .... find you.... never
