Question: The word 'conscription' was used in some context in a press release. I am looking it up here (http://www.dictionary.com/browse/conscription) to be sure I don't miss a meaning and immediately get the idea of moving to a far-flung cottage in the woods or joining the nomads of the Gobi desert. Or some sort of VR equivalent.

Could you please expound what you meant by that?

Will 'minimum wage' be adjusted to match the minimum wage of the country that the game's server sits in/and or will players be allowed to create 'real world'-ish unions to negotiate terms with Mindark on that front? Just asking since part of your plan appeared to involve the words 'minimum wage'...

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ges_by_country

in Sweden the law provides for the right of workers to form and join independent unions to bargain wages collectively, and it prohibits antiunion discrimination.[8]

Sweden is often touted as the poster-child for abolishing the minimum wage. However, the Nordic nation is certainly no free-market free-for-all. Instead, minimum wages are set by sector or industry through collective bargaining. Nearly all Swedish citizens belong to one of about 60 trade unions and 50 employers' organizations that negotiate wage rates for regular hourly work, salaries and overtime. The minimum wage tends to hover near 60-70% of the average wage in Sweden.
What is the 'average wage' of a 'game tester' in Sweden, as I'd assume that'd be about the closest comparable industry to work out the in game minimum wage off of...???... unless someone has a better idea on which industry to use as a comparison... to begin the negotiations with...

    https://www.glassdoor.com/Salaries/g...RCH_KO0,11.htm
The average Game Tester salary is $22,360
    22360 per year/12 months in a year = 1863.33
    1863.33/4=465.83 per week
    465.83/40=11.64 per hour....

so... do you plan to increase your idea for a 'minimum wage' in game to be 11.64 per hour, and/or are you going to help the community establish a union with you as the head to negotiate this salary with Mindark for the in game jobs.

Conscription, or drafting, is the compulsory enlistment of people in a national service, most often a military service. Conscription dates back to antiquity and continues in some countries to the present day under various names.

Its really just a play on words, the Old Biz Model for Games being subscription based.. In this instance new Players will have the opportunity to enlist , since we cant force people into service.. If they complete their 12 Month Contract they will be paid a similar sum to what was once a standard subscription fee.

The actual formula is still being considered

The idea is to create a VR minimum wage unrelated to the country in which the user physically resides.

The Wage levels are not final at this time, just a formula to start with that can create a large number of Jobs that would be supported by Infrastructure systems and could be equal or greater than proposed basic Income levels that are being considered by various countries...

Since you are now the "President of Virtual Reality" can you list any other MMOs over which you hold executive authority? Just name a few other than EU where the player base has the slightest clue they have now have a president. Can you name one other than EU where the name Jon Neverdie Jacobs holds any sort of cachet?

Sorry, He doesn't hold any Cachet here in EU either.. There was never an election in EU for a President. MA still calls the shots for this game.
