Question: EU on iMac ?

does anyone know if EU runs well on on iMac using bootcamp & windows xp or vista ?,

My Mac is:
Mac OS X
2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4GB
Graphic AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB

I have heard that some people have had it working on their macs but don't recall how well it ran. I have a mac book pro and haven't tried it yet myself. I may give it a shot..

With your hardware, I would have to say, it should run very well.. but.. the only way to know is give it a shot

As Nor pointed out: only when you try you will find out. Im not as optimistic as Nor though. You're cpu is decent enough, your RAM is just sufficient (and I dont know if bootcamp uses a lot of RAM, Im not very savy on that topic) but the graphics card will be a bit of a bottleneck if you like nice graphic settings. The Cryengine2 used in Entropia is one of the most taxing game engines available, it generates amazing effects, but at a high computing price.

you can run windows on a mac I believe, so it might be possible? Some people have found they can run eu on linux with wine and winetricks as well as some microsoft dlls installed for directx... so it might be possible. Just give it a try. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. Even if it does work, it might not next vu.

It's true. EU on higher settings is extremely demanding.

I run EU fine on the exact same machine (iMac 2.5GHz i5, 12GB RAM, Windows 7). It will run EU on low and medium settings, but frame rates will go a bit low when it's on high.

I wouldn't try to run it in a virtual machine. If you've got a super-duper machine, maybe it'll run fast enough on safe mode, but the mouse controls are a little weird. It's ok for logging in and maybe checking the auction or support, but don't expect to play it that way.

If you do run a virtual machine, Win7 is faster than XP.
