I just can not understand one thing:
Killing people is unlegal in Sweden, US and all other countries as far I know. But in Entripoa (and in many other games) killing another players is legal.
Poker is legal in Sweden, US, and many other countries. Why poker counts unlegal in virtual world?

How can it be - that killing (and looting, if in pvp4) other person is better than play poker with him?

The US does not allow online gambling from it's citizens with non US based companies and many credit card companies will not allow payments to companies running gambling systems from US citizens.

Whether it's ped / cells / dollars / Euros gambling is gambling what you use to do it is unimportant, MA will not implement it and cut off one of the major markets in the US and open themselves up to all sorts of lawsuits in the process.

RL commercial gambling businesses in the US are tightly regulated, taxed and monitored. Internet poker is illegal in the US as it cannot be easily taxed, nor income by participants easily tracked to be taxed.

Poker (administered by commercial parties) isn't legal in Sweden. Permission is required for gambling (lotteries etc). The Swedish companies who have poker websites have foreign permissions and hosts the servers abroad (Malta, Cyprus).

As for the virtual world: Since you can deposit real money (and withdraw it), running poker inside Entropia would probably count the same way as running a poker website. If entropia was all "play money" (no withdrawals) then poker would probably be allowed. (Introducing play money ingame for the purpose of enabling poker wouldn't help in the long run since it probably would get a market value and thus interchangeable with real money if there is a limitation).

I want you to know its not legal to kill an other player. Players have to be sentient beings, avatars arent even living things. The game allow for players avatars to be temporaly incapasitated by means of removing there health, witch we refer to as killing but actualy is just a simulation.
Poker as the game is legal to play in most part of the world but betting and gambling as its more commonly refered as is regulated in most of the world, specialy when it's organized.

An easy solution to this is implement card games that require users to buy in, but get no cash out.


However, prizes may be awarded as gratitude for winning.. Then technically it would be a contest/event and not gambling. Am i right? (I'm not an expert but this would seem more to me like a competition with a reward)
