EU Black Market?

Pirate is there whether we like it or not, I am thinking of those items that are illegally acquired in game I may call it for the looted items in space PVP, to be non tradable in the normal EU Trading Facilities like TT and Auction and cannot be of any use unless it is must pass thru cleansing in the money laundry and that is the BLACK MARKET. EU Black Market where anybody can buy stolen enmatters and ores !!!

not very realistic... I mean these are suppossed to be different planets. If the authorities can't keep the pirates from doing what they do, and can't even keep the darn robots from attacking Calypso, how do you think the law is strong enough to distinguish what's yanked from another vessel in space and what's stolen from the ground of mother calypso that the miners injure every day with their strip mining processes?

You have your point. But this can be done in space before the killer enter into any planet.

I noticed when a player is killed by another player his achievements will be updated something like humiliated if he was killed 5 times. I think it will be of same principle when a pirate killed another player in space his achievement will be updated and may enter to a quest to check with the black market for cleansing of loots he got from another player. i dunno if this will be easy to code or may not be realistic as you said.

As for me i really hate that remarks of humiliated in my achievements after being killed 5 times in PVP. i am goin away of the topic direction, my point is, could it be possible to update pirate achievements after killing and looting another player in space then somethin like to enter into a quest "You have killed another player, check with the Black Market for cleansing of loots" Then "Sell the loots in Black Market?"

and if he ignore the quest his loot cannot be carried or be disabled as he enters the ground in any planet. I hope im not talking non sense..o.o

and the Black Market is Global

Like the idea. You should have to pay a bribe to enter a station/planet with looted stuff. Or as I've thought before, looted stuff can only be TT'd or traded at the Pirate base (now Howling Mine).

If a pirate loots a stackable that he already has some of, how does the system distinguish between the two? especially once he merges stacks. Is the piarate then to be prevented from selling any of that stack?

It would need to prevent stack merging, effectively making looted stacks and unlooted stacks separate unique item types. I see this getting very messy.

I would love to make things more difficult for pirates but I dont think this is the way to do it.

You are right, it has to merge with the existing stackable items in the inventory. Pirate should kill with their empty pockets.

We all know the consequences of travelling the space it will not be unfair for the pirate if they will be warned similar with the victim being warned that he get looted if killed in space.

The item will not lose its TT value anyway. It can only be traded thru a different means. After the killer accepted selling it in the Black market (not lower than the TT value) for the time being that it has to undergo cleansing, if no one buy it then the items can all now be legally retrieved and claimed by its new owner.

So lets turn it around.

I'm trying to transport my large stack of something to sell on another planet and a pirate attacks me. I somehow manage to successfully defend myself and afterwards I confiscate his property to recoop my defense costs and penalise him. If the pirates loot happens to be the same stackable as mine, then I have just managed to transform all my trade goods into "stolen loot" and suffer the same penalty and probable loss in MU.

So under this system a legitimate trader would have to be extremely careful not to kill any pirates whom they manage to defeat.

regards,
KikkiJikki

Send a message via Skype™ to Stagger

funny, everyone just loves ideas how to make piracy harder :P
you could just give Stagger a shop and make sure we use it for stolen goods.
i bet it's far more simple that way..
