Coming up with a new and nearly plausible explanation is no justification for this new fee. Don't play the shell game, respond to your customers!
Please consider my complaint about this fee registered as support case #120378 as unresolved.
In the same support case, please reread the comments about "Jumping the Shark". I think you missed it.

Please explain how this fee will reduce lag as described in the VU announcement. As a professional network administrator, I fail to see how this financial policy will alter the server farm capacity, bandwidth utilization, or anything else related to the physics (not physx) of MMORPG gameplay.
Are you familiar with the term "jumping the shark"? This change almost has me seeing
MA at the poing of juming the shark. I am considering leaving the game over this and the continuous CTDs happening with 9.0.
I no longer feel I am getting my moneys worth from this game. Please do what you can to return planet Calypso to the place of fun-time robot and monster slaying that built your fan base.
