i think you're confusing with the period before results are released. in the run up to IPO there will be a road show to sell the shares and shout about how great they are and far more financial information available. The propsectus will have to present all risk factors and give some fairly good detail as to how the buiness model works.

thats pretty much it, though i believe there are also tax issues. i think it basically removes a lot of administration if you dont sell to certain countries. (will be checking with someone who knows later today)
