I actually have seen proof that Prof. Barton and Maria are brothers, forced apart by the unforgiving robot forces of Akbal-Cimi. Once you throw the egg at the dark orb, the terrible force of the splash will bring the two together again.
The force of splash will also most likely make possible for me to get into the game once I key in my gold card security code, as right now I can't.
