Now first all respect to the little handful of adult players, which EU'ers are, that actually found a use for Xfire, but Xfire users are mostly 15-17 year olds who uses it to brag about they got no real life, "look how many hours i've played" type of counterstrikers, EU EULA say's 18+ years.
Maybe it's time for a roadmap telling us older players what MindArks plan is with EU, first all the avatar changes to look young and smart, now targetting sub18 year olds.
Where is EU going exactly ?

sry to disagree but while until recently the majority of xfire users were not mmo players they were shooter gamers, who are primarly 22 to 40 year old males. Most of the 15 to 17 year olds are on the consoles these days, because they cant afford a good game rig.
Those 22 to 40 year olds also play another mmo, that is huge, and don't even know
EU exists. Now they will. And they have 1,500$ to 5,000$ dollar high speed game rigs, and jobs, and stay home at night and play when the kids go to bed. they will spend money on games, some of them are great ppl too.
For those you you who don't know,
Xfire runs like most other chat programs but has very valuable features for games. It has a download feature that will search for updates for the games you have installed on your PC. For games other than MMO's such as first person shooters ect, once your friends are on your list, all you need to do is click on their name to join the server they are currently playing on. This is nice when there are about 10k different serves running a shooter game.
How many times have people asked for a way to determine if ppl from their soc are online? Now you have it.
Add your soc mates to your friend list in Xfire, as soon as you log in it will show all members that are online and also who is currently in game. It also provides voice communication and gives you in game notification of a pm from your friends and/or when they come on line.
Set up a hunt team in game and add them all to voice, that is a good time, same as ventrillo and skype but more features.
I am amazed ppl don't know about it. my clan has been using it for 5 years.
I think about 70% of the people who play
eu live in some kind of a PC game world bubble,

and they are missing out on some amazing things.
Some of the posts in this thread sound like my great granpa when he saw a plane crash on tv and saying " i told you nothing good would from from the men and their flying machines"
Walk up hill both ways 10 miles to get to school? Used to dream of a house and lived in a box on the side of the road where every day you had to lick the road clean? This this probably isnt the program for you.
the security flaw people spoke of here was a
EU problem in the client loader, which was a security risk,
Ma was about 3 years behind the curve there. I had to disable
eu monitoring in xfire because of it.
and now since the user and password are not entered via the loader like 99% of other games it's secure.
good luck.
oh and by the way in 5 years i have never received any mail from xfire other than the news letter I signed up for and update notifications.
