MF sux, I go through cycles of using it - because it's so depressing. Of course the question is why do it if it's so depressing a skill. The answer is more depressing - cos every skill and activity in
EU is depressing.
I too believe the model for MF use was designed around a single person. Even resuscitation chips are not designed for group benefit - but simply to the glory of the user. Just as you pay for the glory of your name in global chat for globals and hofs, you pay for glory by spending huge amounts of peds and ME reviving people.
Firestorm does look cool, it does attract interest. Just the same way as a DOA attracts interest. It is not cheap to purchase, or cheap to use. This is why it's rare and thus gains interest. To be honest I don't see any issue with the drop-rate on MF chips - sure I'd like to get a lvl 3 TP chip easier - there are more complicated market dynamics involved. Dumping more L stuff into
EU wont do us any favor. It would successfully lower the resale value of non-L MF chips while providing the same amazing benefits that L weapons bring to the wallets of Entropians far and wide.
The best skill is the skill your neighbour doesn't have. I absolutely detest
MA's nerf of skilling, it's so pointless to BOTH make skill lvls impossible to reach AND when they are reached to ensure that they don't actually provide any benefit. Also compounded by the 'skill inflation' policy
MA has, where by every year the skill we have are devalued as
MA raises the stakes. Meaning everyone is forced to deposit masses amounts of money on a perpetual basis to actually have fun. However all this said, the exclusivity of 1 skills difficulty is another matter. I'm a swordsman, it's not esp. fun or quick to skill. However now I enjoy pretty decent use of katanas. It's something I can do, that others don't find to be workable economically. This is similar with MF.
