Arrow interesting

Some interesting points in the thread +rep to Dan, for the point about rl shopping - ie it's going internet and thats booming, i'd say the over heads are smaller & the audience is bigger. (I'm sure there are more reasons)

What ever we think & what ever we see as not working or failing or succeding, MA will of on the most part sat down and had a serious meeting to disucss what they implant into the game - of cource they will make mistakes, even try to see if a certain inclusion will work or not, later to fix the problem or just leave it and move on to another colourful enticement.

Yes, alot of people agree, there are too many shops, are but if there were too few, there price would rocket and the investers would buy them up like they bought the malls up (malls cost $x - shops sold for $x times 2 & Pa Mall has been sold on now 2 times now & is still doing well) - the shop price would be triple and those people that sold there shops at triple would in the most part take that money out of the game - that = a loss for the company.

So they have kept the shop prices relativly stable, with the downside of some being empty or some waiting for the price to rise before being sold.

I love the idea Southern Fortuss - Southern Fortress Engineering have, with there web site, ordering items in advance, and possibly getting them at a good price, but the economy at the moment is in game and customers log in they want an item there and then, they are playing that evening there hunt is in 5 mins so they want what they need there and then.

If you have a huge stock of items to sell, maybe then you can reserve some, but there are more sales in game, I think and its automatic, no delivery, click in the shop its yours.

In second life you can add your whole shop inventary to a web site, people can shop from the web site, click the item pay from there account and the item appears in there inventary in seconds - but this isnt second life, but it mirrors what Dan was saying about shops going on line becomeing internet based - maybe shops will have this function in the future - a vender system like the banks have - you drop the Shop keeper or teller in another space or on line, click up load from main shop and it lists all your items and deletes as they are sold.

  • I would say, for the most part shops are empty for a number of reasons - eg Roar went on Holiday for a few months i think, no point paying for the rent when its mostly empty after selling most items in the 1st month and being unable to restock.
  • People dont play every day, and so shops sell items and there not replaced as quick as they and we all would like.
  • I'm sure some people also find out they dont enjoy running a shop, and prefer to hunt all the time and so loose interest

Back to the post, is the economy crashing, well is ND making $20,000 a month still ask him - there are sure alot of CND apartments being sold every week.

  • The auction is as full as it ever was & 103 Amps seem to fly out of the window and there not a cheap item.
  • The Wof is in full swing, more competitors than ever before, more rounds, thats certainly booming. Its the best & most organized event in the history of Entropia - it generates im sure 10 times more money and excitement than any land grab event, than all the land grabs put together - it also looks fantastic, the Artwork the detail all 1st class & all player free based. =rep to it.
  • The Land grab, will be interesting and we hope, I not read the rules, I just hope some small soc's will get some piece of the cake or too me its a waste of time. Like knowing the winners in a horse race, not very exciting.
  • Space will bring in a massive wave of people, just like CND did and all the people like me who joined at that time.

Saying all that its wonderful for the game and the company, but if were all gonna loose constantly, were all gonna leave eventually.

goes, to make a cup of Tea

P.S

What happened to all the ad's on the big screens i never see any, so what happened to the income that was bringing to the game, and whats that button for on the login options window for 'Disable Ad's' What Ad's

As I already said back then when the malls opened,
its a really strange idea to introduce a concept into EU that is starting to fail IRL.

Malls and stores are getting more and more replaced by online auctions and online shops - direct marketing over the internet is booming.
What would do the trick is if shop contents would be available through an auction like interface...
ah well but as I said its not the economy itself that is in trouble imo.
