Actually my society has been very, very helpful. They just misunderstood what I was hinting at.
I felt as a noob I would be unlikely to have picked up on the mentor thing (as he had only been missing 2 days at this point) so was trying to drop subtle hints about graduation to get one of them to ask who my mentor was - I then could have spewed my guts
I was just too subtle I guess
(not something I am accused of often!
Just wanted to make sure it was clear that the society are great! - You will see more about that as time goes on
