The series was first shown in 1983 (correct me please if I am wrong here) and was part of the ITV children's "Watch It." Central television had bought the rights to show the program.

Ah, cool. We don't get as much spillover from the continent here. I only know of Moomins because of a Finnish exchange student friend and then seeing some exhibit of them somewhere in Finland.
