Before amps, poisons, buffs and similar good ideas we need basic thing.
We need melee weapons with a lot higher damage and a lot faster. After that all buffs, amps and poisons can act as extra + bounus.
Why?
There is no mod merc melee in game and even if we had that weapon it shud perform a lot better than mod merc to compensate close combat decay and damage.
Hunter with ranged weapon have to deal with half dead mob at point when mob come close. Melee hunter havce to fight with full hp mob. Also melee hunter have to survive that extra half hp of mob but how is now, defense skills or hp gained are almost the same as for ranged hunter. Shud be at least twice than that.

Skill gain?
At certain skill lewel is amost impossible to go up because melee weapon do not enought damage.
Like after 8k of powerfist you have to decay a lot of powerfists to gain single skill - reason is that bigest powefist do too smal damage.
Same go for short blades - you can forget to go on 10k+ even if you are extra rich to pay decay if u dont have at least short blade 10 or better.

I said there is no MM in melee. Just think about decay and full TT of MM and then compare it to nowdays melee weapons. With 82 ped TT you will not hunt lonng with your short blade or other melee.
If anyone think that melee figher skills and hp is ok and blanced with ranged hunters than do a test.
Grab MM, fap and some decoys and go kill ara.
Now repeat that with best melee weapon you cand find and best plated armor. Hehe.

If from beta to here we didnt got any improvement there is no reason to hope we will ever get. ( dont thing at TT crap like swords and blades 13 and such)
Better weapons or also two handed need a lot of graphic and animation.
Now are you sadisfacted with almost noone animation we have now.
For make it you need a lot of designers to broke their fingers for a year to make good animations of fight.
No hope.
