The thing I find interesting about
PE(Yes..I will call it Project Entropia until it becomes a universe of more than one planet) is they are always trying to define what it is and what it is not.
"
PE is not a game."
"
PE is dynamic."
"
PE is not gambling."
"
PE is free to play."
"
PE is a service."
If
PE is a service, it still has a ways to go.
Auktuma, you have to apprecite your position and other crafters like you will be almost impossible for anyone joing now to attain. A true "service" should serve everyone equally and allow anyone to do anything.
MA has created a glass ceiling with the skill nerfs so there will always be this chasm between older players/ubers and the newer players.
Furthermore, while
MA spends time and effort on making us look pretty, they still cannot handle more than a few dozen avatar in an area at a time for events. New content on top of old problems is a golden statue with clay feet. I had read somehwre that someone's perception of
PE is that it is in state of constant BETA, and that fits.
While many enjoy the game, many more have and will leave the game becasue of it's harsh realities. Entropia is far from utopia. I know that may be hard to see or hear for those who sit on top of the pyramid, but it is the truth.
Me? I still enjoy
PE. I wish my returns were better so I could play it more. However, my aspirations are very simple and I do not fret not owning or looting the best gear in the game. As my expectations are low so are my frustrations, but I may be in the minority.
While
MA touts it's enrollment numbers, it doesn't post the number of players active online because it would underscore the vast numbers who have come and gone.
How much better would
PE be if all of them stayed? Would the decay generated give
MA the capital to buy the server-farm we need to keep the game stable under even the most intense loads? A more vibrant economy due to more peds in the game?
If you wish to define
PE, I would say it is a business before it is a service.
I wish everyone could be as happy as you are. If you know anything about the concept of
Maslow's Hierachy, your view of the game is surely from the top...while the vast majority are still scrabbling on the bottom. This is no slight to you, this is
MA's fault for creating these distances between people, their desires, their dreams, and the realities of their real life and this virtual one...
Sorry..I start preaching there...Happy Easter!
