Extract from Alice's story:
Although the robots had been preparing the cities for some time, most of us didn’t fly down to our new home right when we reached Calypso. Our family had decided to farm again so we could provide food for the growing cities, but the farms still had to be built. Many other settlers had similar waits, so the Exodus remained quite full for the first weeks. Our farm was incomplete but habitable when we decided we just couldn’t wait any longer to move into it.
You do not say 'first weeks', it's 'first week'. Alternatively, you could say 'first few weeks', but there has to be more than one week in order to allow an 's' to be added to the end of the word 'week'.
Also, it's kilometre, not kilometer. That's american english.
