This is not an "negative" post.
Seriously, there is a lot in your note that is based on emotion rather than logic, so why bother disguising it as a logical reaction when it's obviously more emotional?
I have no issue with the logic. Go with it, expand on it, think it through. Make it a quest to evaluate the benefits of playing the game versus the costs, and then determine on it's merits whether you want to continue playing or not. That's what it comes down to.
Some people pay hundreds (thousands?) of dollars a month on hobbies (like golf and sports). Some pay this on addictions (like smoking, alcohol or drugs). To evaluate the cost versus the price on these things is always going to favour "not doing them", unless you factor in the fun and pleasure gained. Then you're left with golf, sports, and alcohol, lol. Well, maybe drugs, too.
I recommend to anyone that has become dissatisfied the same thing: evaluate the decision to leave
EU behind. I do this for several reasons, most of which are based on not wanting to hear about how dissatisfied you are beyond that decision. If you are really not satisfied, quit -- then you will have at least gained respectability for your position. As it is, people that continue to play but are not happy with the cost are simply throwing good money after bad. I also feel that
MA is actively encouraging some people to stop playing (you'd have to read the original post for the reasons, but my logic is sound, IMHO). And in the end it's in our bests interests to help
MA achieve that result.
So, either come to grips with the cost/benefit of playing
EU, or find a game that meets your needs for less cost. Don't just continue to play for no good reason as it will only discourage those around you when you complain (valid or not).
Oh, and by the way -- chances are quite good that if you do leave, you'll come back, and with a better attitude, too. I know I did.
