Do simple calculations...compare dmg/pec of maxed impmk2 and maxed p5a @ 140% , pick a mob (for exmaple: 10k of neconu with maxed impmk2 and 10k neconu with p5a @ 140%...you will see huge difference in spend amount of peds to do this) , average dmg, do the math and
But many ppl dont understand this and I think again many of you will -rep me for this post...

I'm nowhere near your in-game experience (23 Laser Pistoleer now), but from my point of view the (L) guns' economy is thus driven by their actual decay:ammo_consumption ratio. For a Korss H400 with an A104 (and when I take the care to use my low-markup finishers) I get about 10 ped decay on the pistol, so about 5-6 ped of markup lost, per 100 ped of ammo. If you aim for the right target (Drops something with a markup regularly, i.e. drones and gazz) you should be able to get these two markups to kill each other.
Summarized: If you go (L) stay off the GeoTreks and Isises (Maybe except Auriga), and go for drones (steadier markup) or argos (less fap and armor decay) babies.
