I went up to CND recently and mined the argo/corna dome as well .. but I brought a fellow pyrate with me .. so we made it like a team hunt / mine.
He did enmatter - I did ore.
We teamed the mobs in between and got a buttload of team globals AND mining ones, too 
Not really helpful I know .. just sharing what we've done in the past.
Maybe it could be something you do .. bring someone with you to team them .. or bring a hunter friend to clear you a good mining path?
