Transform anything that you loot into something else for your own convenience ! Don't want Lyst? Make it into Gold in a simple click of your mouse !
I kind of like to conserve a modicum of realism, even if it is unlikely that mobs would eat chairs or bullets. And converting a bit of loot into a different sort of loot doesn't seem very realistic to me.
