actually, believe it or not, i think making them stop dropping is a good change

since the L stuff was introduced, laser weapons, and especially laser handguns with A10X or A20X amps had a hilarious high eco

making less ppl skill blp, since there are no lower damage amps with acceptable eco that aren't L

also, making all melee weapons rather useless (remember that a melee weapon doesn't use ammo from tt, just decay; since L is bought with % that goes completely to your eco; imagine you had to buy ammo at 110-140%!)

without those amps however, you can even the general eco quite good out
thus making blp skilling more interesting and even giving melee a chance to come back


so, the "it is bad for newbies" thing
really?

what "choice" did a newbie have?
what did you advice them as mentor?

my 2 standards were "get an opalo with 101" or "get an ukash L with 102"
thats it

if anyone said "i like blp/longblade/etc", i had to answer "uuuuh, rather not, bad for beginners!"


imagine a (round) cake, which is the overall loot

now before L, your size of the piece you could get was determined by the eco of your weapon, which was basically based on skills and the weapon

when L came, that totally changed
you could have skilled say longblades for 2 years, but the next opalo newbie had a better eco with his opalo than you with your honor (that was my situation, and i had quite big losses which i haven't experienced before)
-just to mention it, at this time melee was kinda kicked out of the game and of course, more ppl had the right of the same sized piece of cake now, since the cake isn't infinite, that decreased the loot of the individual ofc (so far to L makes us more eco ; i had profit runs with the honor before, with nowadays hilarious low eco ^^)


so suddenly, the size of the piece wasn't that much determined by what skills you had, but basically by what weapon you used

sooner or later, the amps were put on, and suddenly it basically mattered what laser L weapon you used with the best matching amp
thus giving the ppl with better amps a bigger size of the pieces of the cake
-at this time, blp was used far less


taking the amps away complately, had solved more problems of course, since now you have hilarious high eco ppl who have those amps and an even more eco group with mod mercs etc as well

but especially the beginner to mid level class will have a compareable eco now
and actually choices of what to skill
instead of "opalo, breer, riker, breer..." or "ukash, breer til p4a, korss400"


also, a thing to think about

not that long before, when the amps dropped, everyone had one

so everyone with an opalo 101 had the same eco, etc etc

now where is the difference if everyone has just an opalo now?

answer is of course, the group who HAS the 101 now (leave the mod merc group aside now, which will most likely outeco the ppl anyway and always did, but the amps made such a crying)

so basically, what you had before L
was a group of ppl in range of eco, ppl with eco weapon and better skills, ppl with better skills

then you had ppl with L, no real matter of skills

then ppl with L and better amps

and now ppl with amps at all

so, compared to the start point, not much changed, you always had a group of ppl "better" or more eco than others (even more determined by wallet now though)

but what could change back to the point when i started, is a pretty free choice of weapons

and that is a good thing imo
