Can not confirm this.
One of the reasons I switched to ATI were the Nvidia driver under Vista, they are simply crap
I do not trust Nvidia anymore since the "update" on Assasins Creed. Game was performing better with ATI because of 10.1 support, Ubi took that out because it did not play best with Nvidia

And then those driver tweaking for benchmarks...
Or errors in games...
Had been using Nvidia for over 5 years, but right now they neither write stable and WHQL certified drivers nor do they give the best bang for the buck.
And that unstable beta drivers issue is also not for most of the users
