People are of the delusion that a-class are cheaper to use. What hasn't been disproved yet is the theory that the e-class give better loot, hence nulling all eco arguments. Period.
As they are rarer that somehow makes them 'better'. "Rarer" as in better, as in "rarer" steak as in "moo" as in "hoof in face if you try to eat me".
