The MK.II might give you more skills because of it using a whole lot more ammo than the Opalo.
You won't max the MK.II until you are level 100 in the ranged laser damage professions and the laser hit profession. Wich will take you 10 years. Stick with your opalo for a long time, killing snables and exos, then get a better (L) weapon, like the breer series. Unless you like losing a shitload of money.
