This is an auction scam that happens with new items that have no market history.
Person A loots new item. (Let's take the Thunderbird Harness (F,L) , which i was interested in 1) because i didn't have one yet, 2) because Axxel looted it off thorio during the comp last month)
Axxel put it on auction for SB= TT, no BO (as you would on a relatively worthless item)
Item sells to some avatar (180%)
A day later the same item 'resells' at a grossly inflated price (800%).
The same item goes on auction the next day at a 'bargain' 380%.
With the thunderbird harness is just plain stupid - but this technique happens on a lot of items that, if you check the market histroy graphs (not the %'s) you can see what price people are willing to pay/should pay, and what items scammers are attempting to manipulate.
It's still there now - everyone go have a look at the scammer's name before they see this thread
