I personally think that nothing is random in this universe..
I'll explain my thought about it, basicly loot are already in mobs when they respawn or/and potential loot is bigger depending on the area where the mob is located which means anyone could kill any mob and hit the same value as anyone else if killed in the same area (may not be how it works but thats how i see it as mob have an identity number).
As for mining, your skills are usefull to max your finder/extractor, basicly every deposit are already under the ground BUT at different depth, which means an OF-105 could find stuff that a TT finder wouldn't as a TT finder could find stuff a tik120 wouldn't (have you ever tryed mining with 2 different finder and drop bomb with both ? you may find stuff the other finder didn't..)
There is a thread about finders and their ability to find ores/enmatter of different type..
In mining, 2 persons with different finders would find different stuff (could still find the same deposit if depth is supported by their finders) in the same area and their skills wont affect their finds, only the efficiency of their finder which at some point will be maxed and skill wont affect them anymore!
This how i think the system is working, nothing is given out to any avatar, just be at the right place at the right time with the good stuff, everything is left on eudoria by

Some pray lootius, some pray themselves and wonder if they picked the right direction to go to and some just act without thinking and check what has be left to find, many player means many different way to deal with the game but the system is the same for everyone, right ?
