Would you check
MA's support site for bugs / known issues if you knew it was updated regularly before filing a new support case? (guess I ran outta room on poll question above even though I thought I had it all)
Yes
No
Already do
Background:
MindArk Communication discussion
Dion had his whole thread about what ppl wanted from
MA as far as communication goes. Many in that thread mentioned the bugs, mini update information, and the like. If you read thru the thread you'll see that it's one of the most mentioned communication problems.
There are still many many new bugs (issues) in the game since this last VU. There are many many more that have been around for months / years. They still don't let us know what's fixed, not fixed and the like. I'm not asking for information about bugs that are security issues but if there's invisibility ones, crafting ones, teleporting ones, revive ones, ....... Yes, those are needed to be told to the community and all of us updated on a regular basis, not just a list when there's a major VU! Why why why can't
MA do this???????????????
I found this post by Marco from 2006 and thought I'd re- share
Open Letter to MindArk
As for bugs – Project Entropia is a very complex virtual universe. As it is one that is constantly evolving it is unfortunate, yet normal, that bugs slip past Quality Control. We actively squash bugs when found. Some bugs experienced are due to facts that are very difficult for us to solve, like slow/badly configured computers, software and firewalls/routers, or Internet latency in general. Others can't be recreated and/or verified when reported, and thus make it very hard for us to fix. There appears to be some general misconception that
MA likes a buggy Project Entropia "in order squeeze the community for money". Again utter nonsense and anyone with a sense of business knows why - happy customers are loyal customers.
________________
So, I'll ask you Marco or
MA staff, please tell us where you're actively squashing the bugs when they are found? Please don't say they are not reproducable as many of us experience the exact same thing, like the revive terminal bug on Amethera that makes you revive far away from where you were. That's been around for a long time. Why not at least put in your support section a list of on-going issues like this if you're unable to fix it or having a hard time with it? We don't expect perfection as gamers realize that bugs happen. What we do expect is the communication of these issues. Is that just to much to expect?
The mis-conception that's posed a lot by the community is that
MA is quick to fix bugs that cost them but slow to fix the ones that cost / effect our daily game play. When one sees it happen over and over when does it cease to become a mis-conception??
This is something this community greatly needs. There was nothing more upsetting to myself and many others to find out that there was a 'known issue' with limited bp's from another player that posted in a 'private' forum this information from support.
I mainly don't understand why
MA doesn't seem to realize how much money it will save them in support personel time. We're all tired of the copy/ past responses that make no sense. I was told by support to make a new avatar in response to a C++ error that obviously has nothing to do with me but is in your program. The poll is here so maybe you can see how many of us would go to the site if we knew it was reliable and updated regularly.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE communicate the known issues, ones that are being worked on (not security related) and the like on a regular basis.
