Skill gains in SiB guns ?

Has anyone made any tests on how much more skills one gains on SiB weapons ?
From my limited experience it feels like there is absolutely no difference in an unmaxed or maxed SiB. Either it is really only minimal (below 10%) or I was unlocky to be in areas where skillgain is harder.
Anyone notived it or done some tests (search did not help me).
