I hear what you say, but I do disagree. My view of 'free speech' is simple. If what I say does not hurt anyone, why would any not allow me to speak. I wish those words were mine, but a much wiser man said them.
But, I agree whole heartly with the statement. If I call you names, if i attack you and not the message, then a MOD has my blessing and I would hope all other members to delete the post or ban the player. But if a MOD does not agree with the message and decides to close the thread, then I do have a problem.
Yes, a court of law is one thing, but I am sorry, a forum is not a court of law. It is far from it. A court of law is based on just that LAW. The powers that be here are trying to make their rules, their 'laws'. I understand that, but in doing so, they are setting themselves over what some call 'Natural Laws', the right to be safe in your home, the right to worship as you desire, and the right to speak your mind without fear of being punished for speaking something that others don't agree with.
That is my whole point. From John Locke to today, a view of the social contract, that is the general viewpoint of the 'free world' is that Human Kind has rights that should not be 'touch' by the laws of man. That Human Kind has these rights from birth, and if any governemnt or group sets themselves between the 'Natural Laws' and "Man's Laws' then we have the right to fight and if possible change Man's Laws to reflect those of Nature.
What I just said, in simple terms, not for Etopia but for those that don't agree is that if you don't allow another to speak their mind, how long will it be before you are not allow to speak yours? Again, not my words, thank you Mr. Jefferson.
I would just like a way to post about a game i enjoy...lol, most of the time, and not be in fear that I might piss off some person that does not agree with what I say. I would like to feel free to post that the moon is made of 'green cheese' and then let the other members tell me i'm an idiot, with out a 'goverment' droping me into jail...yes, i see a ban as like being in jail..you can not take part in society, it's an adult form of 'time out'.
