General statement: Just so you dont think im the evil villan here... I got promised an affiliate agreement from
MA... Read it here:
www.perc.info/afilliate.rar
In that it states that
MA has to provide me with a tracking device so i can see how many are using the PERC client. That would generate "Income" for me which I would pay for the servers with..
MA did NOT provide me with such a program, so I made my own.. Mine can only track downloads and not installs but wouldent it be fair to say that 50% of all downloads would actually install the game??
Today we have :
of the client.. That would bring the total number of installed clients to somewhere arround 1900.. Lets just say 1500.. then we are pretty sure its bigger than that..
Lets also asume each avatar on average "looses" 50 PED pr month.. (Im sure its a lot higher.. you be the judge)
since the affiliate agreement states 50% of all accounts over 500
That would be (1000 * 50 PED)/2 = 25.000 PED pr month.. just for the +500 accounts... Then we would have to get the other % for the other accounts...
I think
MA, again, dident think about what they did before they gave me the affiliate agreement.. Hence.. they made it void, on the promise they would pay for the server.. since thats all i asked in the first instance.. heck.. with that affiliate agreement.. I could live off PERC.. and actually hire ppl.. :-p
We got the moste generouse offer from the host of PERC that we could get the first months for free.. just to see how it were like...we agreed on we should start paying 1/1-2005.. The host's director is playing
PE as well so he dosent "want" to close PERC down, cuz he knows how much the newbies likes it.. so it has stayed online for 6 months over the initial free periode.. With the promise that he would get paied "any time soon".. I promised him this on the belif that
MA would stick up to their word (word is important here, cuz I dont have anything on writing).. Needless to say, nothing has happend.. My contact at
MA has lately been asking if the host would accept commercials for the host on the site as payment.... :s tsk tsk... But seeing that the hosts target group is midsized to big companies, I dont think they want ad's on a website that is for single individuals playing an mmorpg...
So to sum up.. I did not start to charge money for my own greed.. I started to charge money so I could pay for the server, as my contact at
MA promised he would take care of...
