The big chunky gear wheels are from an earlier style of lego (no idea what) as I ran out of the nice slimline gear wheels.
All of these parts are becoming increasingly hard to find.
The motor unit is from an old Airfix car (pre-scalextric) and powered by an ancient Hornby Train controller.
I broke the original Lego motor many moons ago. I reverse engineered it when I was 9 years old to generate power and snapped the main drive shaft off while tearing pile up from my mothers carpets.
(I'll keep quiet on the other dangerous things I found out about early Lego battery power supply leads which can be plugged into the mains power lead for a radio) shhh
