There is another way to! Get to know people in the game. If you are friends with someone in a society and then one day you are at the rig and someone from that society PK's you then you could pm your buddy and say heeyyy your soc m8 is blasting me at the rig >_<! can you ask him to stop pls? :P and maybe they will
I am not saying go and befriend people tbough
but these things take time.
In fact, 'time' is probably a better answer to this. In time you will gain skills, gain friends, gain equipment and gain respect.
