Entropia Universe was updated to VU 8.8 late this morning! The new VU brings a new investment opportunity with the announcement of the sale of three large shopping malls soon to appear in the in-game auction. The malls contain three floors (each with 12 shops and an auction room), a public teleporter, a private mansion, and a spacecraft landing pad. They are located at Port Atlantis, Twin Peaks and Emerald Lakes (a newly found outpost in Amethera). The Emerald Lakes mall also comes with a land area for hunting and mining, with its own fertiliser station.
Speculation has already begun within the community as to what price the malls will fetch. The consensus appears to be that each will carry a six-figure price tag in Ped but that Neverdie's record 1,000,000 Ped investment for the Club Neverdie space station will not be surpassed. The Port Atlantis and Twin Peaks malls are likely to attract interest due to their location at prime trading points but despite this, the Emerald Lakes mall may well fetch the highest bid due to its extra land area.
You can check out the Twin Peaks and Port Atlantis malls right now. The Emerald Lakes mall can be reached with a quick jog through the Amethera countryside from Shinook Jungle teleport to coordinates (14000, 25100). Note the malls each have a teleport located on the 4th floor. The Emerald Lakes location also has its own teleport separate from the mall so there's 4 new teleports to collect this VU!
The new VU brings many more things too. You'll all no doubt be pleased to be receiving your Christmas gifts, including bottles of Champagne for some! The skill system has been reworked and you can now view your pro-standing for
each and every profession! Scanners reveal a similar level of detail when examining other avatars' skills (although you have the option of hiding your skills from others). The mining claim process has been simplified; once a resource is detected it is automatically claimed. Private screens and signs have been added for shop owners to better advertise their wares. Many other small adjustments and bug fixes are also included.
