Just to add to everything that is going on here. I paid for my premium membership when MB was running this becuase I joined the forum and it helped me so much that I felt I needed to support it to ensure others benefitted as I had done.
I have again paid a yearly subscription for exactly the same reason, I want this forum to exist and keep on helping those that come and use it.
I never understood the little extras when I first became a premium member and so these are all just a bonus to me. Even if they weren't there I would donate just to show my appreciation of everything that goes on here. This forum helped me and I want it to help others.
There may well be the odd one or two that pay just to "impress" but I suspect the majority will have a similar opinion to that of my own. Let's face it no-one is going to donate any amount of money if they have no intention of hanging around.
If there is a concern that people will not take someone as seriously if they haven't donated then I believe that is where the reputation system will help.
Everything else is just down to common sense.
