Well just a resume so that people might find my conclusions easier to understand.
I think that after you read all that data you might reach the same conclusions, if you don't, I would appreciate very much that you replyed and posted what your thoughts are in this matter.

but that dosent mean you all alwyas using it at this range..so i think it is just like with dmg..sometimes you hit with 40 meters range, sometimes with 50 sometimes with 140...thats why somethimes if you were mining on one area other ppl can find also someminerals, beacuse you havn't found all, and this can be a reson of this no always full range.
My conclusions would also be that the maximum horizontal range for a newcommer would be with an OF-105 and a MD-50
~ 70 range.

I find it very hard to believe that they could have 140 range when there have been miners doing this activities for many many months now and the only report of a deposit found over 65 range counting from the center of the circle were the bomb/probe was planted was my own (they could be hidding information, but I have no reasons to believe that they wouldn't share this with me) and all the mining tuturials assume that the maximum range is arround 50 anyway.

One of the results seemed to indicate that skills might affected range (very little) when using diferent tools of similiar level, but it could be that it was just a small sample of results that was giving error, or that there is a small diference between those tools and skills doesn't affect the maximum range all that much.

I didn't show any proof nor I ever seen any that could satisfy me but I believe that just like the weapons and the results in crafting that your skill level will improve the ability to get deposits at the edges of the maximum range capacity of the tool.
In the extractors it is quite obvious that they work this way.
