I personally beleive that we NEED to discover hostile alien life. Maybe then we'll stop building walls and drawing lines on maps. we'll no longer be Germans, or White people, or Gay people... We'll all just be Earthlings and we'll have to work together...
Some believe that the fact that we have Not been visited by aliens proves that there is intelligent life out there. It's as if there's a huge neon sign over earth which says "dangerous animals. Do not approach. (They shit in their water supply..)"
But Arthur C Clarke nailed it. He said..
"One of two possibilities exist. Either there is intelligent life out there, other than ourselves, just waiting for an introduction, OR in the whole infinite vastness of space, we are the only intelligent life anywhere. And whichever is true, It's Amazing! Completely mind-blowing. Just be awe-struck.."
