Just in response to this, as well as another poster's comment "every 1 calls noobs, noobs ", I must say that MadMike is not the only one who prefers not to refer to new colonists as noobs. And no poster here can speak for everyone.

This text from further down the page at wikipedia may help clarify an alternative view on the usage of such words.

In online gaming, a greater distinction may be made between a "newb" and a "noob." The common consensus is that a "newb" is someone who through their very nature of being a new player is inexperienced and naive to particular gaming mechanics or etiquette, whereas a "noob" is a player that is generally considered to be experienced, yet often makes mistakes or solecisms that would more likely be attributed to a "newb."

As I have previously posted, I liked your Guides article very much. I am only posting this now to suggest people often have different opinions on things, which makes EU such a diverse and interesting place to be in.

Respect.
