Entropia Outfitters (?)

I saw their ad on the ingame boards and went to look on their website; www.entropiaoutfitters.com

Does anyone know if their site is approved by Mindark or if it's even Mindark's own site (I doubt it)?

They offer a few pices of clothing with the "e" logo but also some sort of "we-will-call-you consulting", if you're unsure weather you want to be a hunter or a miner. They also claim they can help you with depositing money, something that alone is enough to set off a few alarm bells.

They use the Mindark logo and write that Entropia is a registered trademark to Mindark etc. but something tells me everything can't be right with the way they use the material.

Further there is a link to "Entropia Forum" which is their own community forum (that seem to have some database errors atm, so I can't visit it).

Nice one Oleg. I guarantee he will be updating his registry records with bogus information as soon as he realizes that people are looking into him. Good to have a permanent record of it.

I seem to remember a guy not too long ago talking about branded EU merch and how he had talked to MA about it and they "didn't have an issue" with what he was doing. I'll have to look for that thread. I wonder if it's the same guy?

I did a whois as well, but isn't it just the company behind the hosting?

Could be, but it's not the host MA use. Entropiauniverse.com is listed under Mindark, not a host.

Hi everyone. I am the owner (Darri in-game). I do have permission to use MA logos and so forth. I got that permission from David Simmonds, Director of Business Development himself while he was here in the States (San Francisco last month). And that is my name and home address... sorry, is that bad to list that on a business website?

The site just went live and am trying to do more advertizing for it. I am funding 100% of it and thought it would be a nice channel for ppl to get some Entropia apparel. Soon I want to offer more choices but I have to take it slow.

As for the "help depositing money" thing, I wrote that ppl not me can deposit their own money into their own account to enhance their-own playing experience. This side of the consulting business is for a very small population which has approached me. Most of the good resources, discussions, guides, are all here and I am pointing ppl here.

No need to sound the alarm. I have been in-game since 2004.

Go back to the site and register and we can start up a forum or community there.

...well actually no, i did not see your thread. MA did not mention to me that someone was doing this already. I did not ask them if someone had the idea already, which you seemed to have thought about last year.

But that is great. For example, there are many brands of blue jeans rite? many brands of shoes out there too.

You should do it too. Competition breads innovation.

There are so many possibilities... many folks could probably run a business and put PE (or EU) stuff on Tshirts.

Even though this is not an official Mindark approved website the owner (Darri) has been given permission by MA to use our promotional material available to sell items through his website.
His business plan was accepted and approved and I wish him all the luck in his new business venture.
