lolz if what you are saying its true, then entropia would look like a brand new game in a testing fase again.. but with better graphics. cant really imagine that.

I just got done editing the Alf interview, and after listening to it again, I'm in agreement with the OP.

The new engine is in a testing phase right now. You can get more info from Entropiaradio.com later this week There may even be an exclusive sneak preview of the new engine.

letz hope eu goes better in evry thing... i dont like to have much more lag and better grafics, but a bad lotsystem and bad balancing of some things.

Also i hope to see meany new funy things.. more land for mining , new mobs. new profesions etc....

routine but its a good time to do it I guess however there is such a thing as redundancy.

MAYBE??? trade chat? Even MA wouldn't be daft enough to stick up a replacement which was so incomplete.

yes and no... in theory it would be nice but MA have to consider their end user base for maximum compatibility so as to not (within reason) loose 90% of their players overnight. Also it depends on how port-able the current Calypso is to the new system. If its very easy to convert, things might not look massively different. (might) If they have to re-create/edit everything... then maybe. Its very possible too that MA will turn off things like the ability to throw objects around if it doesn't suit. Basically, I'll believe Eudoria will look like crysis when it actually does.

So many people don't seem to know or realize that CryEngine2 isn't a form of graphics.

The reason Crysis takes so much power to run... Is because the GAME DEVELOPERS made very high detailed textures, very high polygon counts, and tried to make the game as realistic as possible, without making running it on highest settings impossible. (only really hard.)



That doesn't mean if you implement CryEngine2 that you have to make the game as advanced as Crysis is. That is all up to the GAME DEVELOPERS on how detailed they want the game to LOOK.

MindArk is not going to be putting in the same kind of time and money it takes to create a game like Crysis..


The biggest changes you will see are:

1.) Improved movement, object physics. (Woot for cars! Drivings gonna be hella fun.)(Assuming it doesn't burn 100ped a minute LOL.)

2.) Improved life form anatomy.

3.) More realistic materials. (plants, buildings, clothes, water, etc..)


CryEngine2 merely lays the foundation for the use of more advanced graphics, in a way current computers can handle. But with room to grow into the future until CryEngine3 comes out.

Remember people...There will always be a "Graphics Quality" option in the game. If your computer can't handle the updated graphics on max settings.. Then keep lowering the quality settings until you can play at an acceptable frame rate.

At it's lowest... It will run pretty much the same as the game does now. But will look a considerably amount better. Just due to the fact that the physics system stays in place and the newly drawn textures and 3d models are there.

The things that change when you lower the graphics quality settings mainly are..

1.) Lower polygon count: The lower this is, the less smooth the curves of a 3d model are. Thus less polygons your computer has to calculate constantly.

2.) Lower texture detail: The lower this is, the less data your computer has to calculate constantly and cache.

3.) Lower view distance, so there are less things to calculate.

All other things are only effected in very small ways when lowering graphics settings.


So in the end... What people need to realize is..CryEngine2 isn't what's going to push your system.. It's how detailed the Developers decide to make the game that will. So please stop comparing it to Crysis. We should be so happy that they choose CryEngine2, Because it will bring a lot more fun to this game. And also make it more popular/well known. Which is something Entropia needs.

Crysis pushes your system because they designed it as one of the most realistic games to date. Not because of the CryEngine2. (Without the CryEngine2.. The game would take even more computer power then it does now, due to all of the optimizations and new techniques CryEngine2 created/implemented)

If you all stopped depositing for a few months then maybe you could afford a new computer, After all there not that expensive.

If you think they are expensive then I would suggest you build a time machine and go back about 10years ago to buy a new computer,

I cant wait till the new engine is up a running.

I really wish someone had some more info on these cars and such, any info could help all of us prepare for the future of this game
