It's funny how many rumors are spread around here and other forums both positive and negative about Mindark.

So, I'd like to start a thread showing what rumors have been posted to date, and have been told/found to be true/untrue.

Please keep the REAL rumors out of this thread. Until a rumor has been confirmed/denied by a staff member of Mindark, it is still a rumor. I would like to keep this thread open for additional rumors that have been proven to be true/untrue. DO NOT POST REAL RUMORS.

So, here's some rumors that have been proven by Mindark staff, to be untrue/true. I will add links to the posts/radio interviews as I have time in my life, or if a mod wants to add them, even better.

1) Mindark makes it's money only from Decay / Mindark Makes money from Sales of Real Estate / Mindark Makes money from Auction Fees / Mindark make money from <insert something here>

Marco and Frank have stated MANY times that Mindark only makes money from Decay. While they only take revenue from decay, they do not take all decay - source - see here


2) Mindark staff members have their own avatars / Mindark staff steal from the loot pool / Mindark players play from Home

Yes, they do have avatars. These avatars are played by the staff. All staff must have an avatar. These staff run avatars are company owned. These avatars are given an 'allowance' for play time. When becoming a staff member of Mindark, you must give up your avatar. - source - Entropia Radio interview with David Simmonds

3) Old/Unlimited items no longer drop / You can no longer loot <insert item here> / Only L items drop now

About nr.2 - I read some old interview where one of the MA employees claimed he had never had a global? I think it was Marco or Frank...

About nr.3 - Well there has been several UL items (even higher items) drops not too long ago... Wasn't there a mod merc last year and a foeripper this year for example?
