yes, the CEO and other did speak to some sort of committee. a lot is made of this meeting, but as far as i know there is no public record of the discussion and we dont know if it was anything more than simple fact finding.

Guess we should ignore those literal bible ideas which gave rise to racial and sexual equality too...

that aside, I think your general idea is spot on.

In the past few years, there has been a HUGE increase in Indian Gaming....At least in the west, it seems like there are several casinos now in every major city on 'indian land' or land that indians purchased. To be sure, what is backing those is not 'indian' money...but the money of rich white men who know a good deal when they see one.

btw, I got nothing against rich white men, but generally speaking, people love to see them as the personification of evil..so thought I would toss that in.

Because they are on Indian land, they are not subject to American laws. Why would they want comptetion from overseas? If the bible belt had their way, there wouldn't be any of this domestic gaming as well...but we see how much influence they actually have.

What gets me is the hypocricy of politicians in my country (probably yours too), who will try to use 'moral' arguments to persuade people, and then are not consistent in applying them to other areas.... very two faced. For example, States will make 'moral' arguments against gaming, and use 'moral' arguments to justify taxing gaming (to fund anti-addiction advertising and clinics) but never apply the same moral arguments to their own state lotteries.

All the while, there are very good arguments FOR and AGAINST games of chance being allowed in a community...but we have long ago, stoped discussing the issue in a purely factual way.... all smoke and mirrors now. But I don't blame government, more than I blame our own ignorance... we can't be bothered to actually learn the facts... we are too busy watching American Idol, to actually take a reasoned and sensible approach to our lives....which includes our political lives.

news is entertainment too, newspapers have to sell advertisementspace, if the news on tv isnt watched that much, it is changed.

So TV , paper, almost evrything is involved with entertainment

I meant, in easier English, the opening poster (OP) posted a thread containing information that should be researched prior to commenting on, much like all 'information' that is presented as the truth.

Blaming one gouvernement or other, is just pointless , imho its all about money... and i am pretty sure same rules will come in europe very soon...

Problem is just som make money,and dont pay tax...

I dont think any gouvernement care if i can feed myself or not because i play a casino online... what they count is , i dont pay tax on it , and the casino dont pay tax , and it not their own casino that actually make the money...
Never forget , most of people in gouvernement , american , eiropean , left , right , middle , conservator or what ever ... they all own share in this and that compagny ... they just whant be sure , you bring you waste your money at the right place for them...

All the rest , is just blabla to keep the sheep calm , or fight eatch oter...While you are here , saying its the fault of X and that Y is inoncent ... both drink champagne together with your money...
