And if Gordon Brown keeps pally with America Like Blair and moves for laws like this too....Dang, stuff like this makes me annoyed, the government taxes us too fucking much....£1.30 per litre of diesel anyone? Americans were complaining about their prices, they should see how much tax we pay on our stuff....

Well to me this is just a way to inforce Sports gamboling restrictions....But they seem to of got carried away with stopping more things

Why they keep talking about SL is crazy - SL stopped all the Gamboling over a year ago. people buy products such as Clothes which a person spends time to make - Scrips that perform functions - It's not Gamboling it's entertainment. Buying and selling of land is just the same as buying and selling Web space or bandwidth - What are then on Drugs...

People trade there - isn't that what makes the world go around - isn't that what banks do - Ok i had a feeling they maybe adding a tax - Like VAT soon - like ebay did - but this is just stupid ass flicking.

China is moving in one Direction and America the other - What the hell is going on.

Well - maybe if it does happen - EU will become a subscription game for Americans - it will surely add more elements of So called fraud to occur as people struggle to find ways to get there own money and play games that in moderation are not only harmless entertainment, but work and business platforms that generate wealth, Business & Jobs for companies and also for association companies and products.

I can see it now - They Ban Bowling, Baseball, American Football.

They should be a hell of a lot more concerned with the economy and the amount of Oil used or is it that all they do all day is play second life and there pissed off Anshe has all the land.

Last point - I looked at the figures about the numbers of people that earn what could be deemed as a profit in second Life and its the size of a pin head.

Thats crazy, if they ban US cash transfer to SL, then the same will apply to EU for sure. Also being the US, won't be long before the UK government comes up with some kinda stand on this. The UK at the moment seems to be becoming more and more influenced by US policies.

This isn't politics, this is regulation and rules and something people need to be aware of. There is a difference. Just because politicians are making the rules doesn't make it politics.

That being said, a lot of legistalation is passed in the US but it falls through the cracks as they lack the ability to monitor the problem or enforce their rules.

And trust me..thuis meeting was scheduled before SDept. 15th, but now they have bigger fish to fry...

Either way, I have friends in other countries that could sell off all my stuff or transfer funds if needed.

It would be nice to see such a law pass in America... I will start a company that will charge people for making payments on any site they want. The company will be created in Cuba.

I would agree with you however the original act that banned various online gambling sites was seen over here as more of a protection move by the US government for US owned gambling companies. It was noted at the time that those companies this act effected were mainly UK companies/Non US companies. The fact that it did not have much effect on domestic US companies offering gambling services did not go down too well as i remember.

So i dont really see the UK following the US in this case. If anything the UK government has been looking to open up UK gambling laws.

Yes i think they moved to open 5 or 6 Large Casino's in the UK in main cities, but the bill was defeated afaik, not sure about current stance on internet gambling atm. Also if the UK/EU governments started to make bills on this it would be years before they would come to fruition.
I just hope for the US this doesn't go through, and more importantly any additional bill that would cover virtual economies.
